/About

Join Hannah Sloan and Craig Krull for a special walkthrough of Matías Suater MoreraPegamachos - currently on view through May 3rd. We will contextualize Pegamachos within the trajectory of the artist’s career and will touch upon his early work and influences.

We will also discuss the artist’s transition from analogue photography to AI. This in-person walkthrough will offer insight into the artist’s process and the broader cultural and political themes of the exhibition.

About Pegamachos:

Through AI-generated imagery Costa Rican artist Matías Sauter Morera reimagines a legendary, yet largely invisible, gay community in 1970s–80s Costa Rica. The work navigates themes of gender, freedom of expression, queer memory, and historical erasure—melding speculative visual archives with deeply personal narratives.
