In conjunction with the Bergamot Station Open House on Saturday, May 31, Costa Rican textile artist Katrin Aason will speak about her first US solo exhibition, The Alchemy of Pigments. Each artwork in the exhibition is meticulously woven and hand-dyed with ancient natural pigments: indigo, cochinilla, avocado pits, and medicinal roots like cuculmeca, blending sacred geometry with hands-on research into Mesoamerican weaving traditions, geometric abstraction, and the material legacies of artists like Anni Albers and Bridget Riley.
Join us at the gallery on Saturday, May 31st to learn more about Aason's practice and process. Coffee and donuts will be served.
