Duet is a participatory work that invites visitors to engage in a one-on-one duet by following a simple set of instructions.Through this accessible framework, the artist transforms the fair into a site of shared movement, encounter, and exchange, where dance becomes an experience available to anyone, regardless of prior training or experience.
Drawing from her background as a dancer, the artist is committed to expanding access to dance practices and embodied forms of knowledge. Rather than presenting choreography as something to be observed from a distance, she creates opportunities for participants to experience movement directly within their own bodies. Play serves as both a methodology and a catalyst, encouraging curiosity, attentiveness, and new ways of relating to one another.
The work deliberately shifts attention away from conventional ideas of technical correctness or perfection. Instead, it foregrounds embodiment, inviting participants to trust their own instincts and discover movement through experience rather than evaluation. The visual instructions function as an open score, allowing each duet to unfold according to the unique qualities, rhythms, and physical presence of its participants. There is no prescribed or "correct" way to perform the work. Each encounter is inherently singular. Every participant contributes their own gestures, history, personality, and way of moving, producing a performance that can exist only in that specific moment between two people.
Through these ephemeral exchanges, the project emphasizes behaviors.

Erina Libertad (b. 1986, San José, Costa Rica) has worked across theater, ballet, contemporary dance, circus, film, and performance since childhood, while also designing costumes for performing arts and cinema.
Since beginning her visual arts practice in 2016, her work has been exhibited at the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo (MADC), Fundación TEOR/éTica, Despacio, and Cero Uno in Costa Rica, as well as Espacio Belgrado in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She is co-founder of the artist-run space Cero Uno in Costa Rica, where she continues to organize exhibitions, workshops, and artistic projects.
