Costa Rica will host Curanderxs. Encounters on curatorial practices, a program that will bring together four leading figures in contemporary curating from Ibero-America and the Caribbean during September to promote the exchange of experiences, research and training in this field.
The initiative is spearheaded by satis.FACTORY, with support from Hannah Sloan Curatorial & Advisory and the Spanish Cultural Center in Costa Rica (CCE). The program includes public discussions and intensive training sessions for curators, cultural managers, artists, and anyone interested in curatorial practices.
The program will feature Dominican curator and researcher Luis Graham Castillo; Puerto Rican curator and writer Marina Reyes Franco; Juan Canela, chief curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama ; and Mexican artist, curator, and researcher Sofía Olascoaga . The four guests will share working methodologies, research processes, and experiences developed in museums, biennials, public programs, artist residencies, and independent projects.
Each specialist will offer an open discussion in the CCE LABand, subsequently, will lead an intensive training session at satis.FACTORY, with the aim of exploring different approaches to curatorial practice and its relationship with art, communities and territories.

La iniciativa ofrecerá conversatorios abiertos y espacios de formación para profesionales del sector cultural y personas interesadas en las prácticas curatoriales.
Costa Rica será sede de Curanderxs. Encuentros sobre prácticas curatoriales, un programa que reunirá durante septiembre a cuatro figuras de la curaduría contemporánea de Iberoamérica y el Caribe para promover el intercambio de experiencias, la investigación y la formación en este campo.La iniciativa es impulsada por satis.FACTORY, con el apoyo de Hannah Sloan Curatorial & Advisory y el Centro Cultural de España en Costa Rica (CCE). El programa contempla conversatorios abiertos al público y espacios intensivos de formación dirigidos a curadores, gestores culturales, artistas y personas interesadas en las prácticas curatoriales.La agenda contará con la participación del curador e investigador dominicano Luis Graham Castillo; la curadora y escritora puertorriqueña Marina Reyes Franco; el curador jefe del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Panamá, Juan Canela; y la artista, curadora e investigadora mexicana Sofía Olascoaga.
